    Editorial Policy

    Last updated July 25, 2026

    Editorial independence

Editorial decisions at Faultline Global — what we cover, how we frame it, and when a piece is ready to run — are made independently of advertisers, sponsors, and any other outside party. No advertiser or sponsor previews, approves, or influences a story before publication.

    What we publish

Faultline Global runs one brief a day, filed under Briefings, Science, Culture, Analysis, or Case Studies. Pieces are published only on days we have something we think is worth your time — there’s no quota and no filler.

    Sourcing standards

We attribute claims to a named source wherever possible, and note explicitly when a source has asked to remain anonymous, and why. Data and statistics are linked to their original source where one exists. Analysis pieces are clearly framed as such and are expected to argue from evidence, not assert without it.

    Corrections

If we get something wrong, we correct it. Factual errors are fixed as soon as they’re confirmed, and any correction material enough to affect a piece’s meaning is noted at the bottom of the article, along with what changed. We’d rather hear about a mistake from a reader than not hear about it at all — email hello@faultlineglobal.com.

    Use of artificial intelligence

Every brief published on Faultline Global is written by its named human author — either Ashwani Kumar or a guest contributor credited as Faultline Global. AI tools may be used for narrow, mechanical tasks, such as checking a citation or tightening a sentence, but not to generate the reporting, analysis, or opinions in a piece, and AI is never credited as an author.

    Advertising and programmatic ads

Faultline Global runs programmatic advertising through Google AdSense. These ads are placed automatically by Google’s network based on the page and the visitor, not chosen or approved by us story-by-story, and their presence or content is never a factor in what we choose to cover. Running an ad on a page is not an endorsement of the advertiser or its product.

This is distinct from sponsored content — a paid placement written or commissioned by an advertiser. Faultline Global does not currently run sponsored content. If that ever changes, any sponsored piece will be clearly labeled as such, both in the piece itself and in its byline, and will meet the same accuracy standard as everything else we publish.

    Conflicts of interest

Where a personal or financial interest is relevant to a story, it’s disclosed transparently within the piece itself. Contributors are expected to flag any such conflict before a story runs.

    Reader contact and tips

Story tips, factual corrections, and general feedback are always welcome at hello@faultlineglobal.com. We read everything, even if we can’t reply to all of it.
